It is no longer possible to apply for a regular visa at the embassy. All applicants must apply for an eVisa (electronic visa) online. The usual entry visa is valid for 3 months from the date specified as the arrival date and entitles the holder to a stay of up to 30 days.

As of 01.10.24, all visitors to Zanzibar (except residents with a Tanzanian residence permit) must take out compulsory travel insurance with the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) for
the duration of their stay (up to 92 days). This insurance can only be taken out with ZIC; other international travel insurance policies are not accepted. Further information can be found on the website of ZIC.

Scan of your passport
in color, first two pages with personal data
Passport photo
in color, biometric, photo requirements
Booking documents,
e.g. flight booking

Additionally for business visas:

Secondment letter
from the employer in Germany
Letter of invitation
from the company in Tanzania
Business License
of the company in Tanzania

Fees per person:
€50.00 to €250.00 (visa fee, depending on the purpose of travel, see application form p. 2/3 and 3/3)'
+ €60.00 (SERVISUM fee, plus VAT)
plus administration fee (€4.50, incl. VAT, per order)
