Visa Applications / Entry Requirements: Japan

German citizens and 70 other nationalities do not need a visa for the following purposes of travel: tourist travel, business trips, attending conferences, remote work for employers outside Japan, visiting relatives / friends, attending language schools, unpaid internships, unpaid research, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS VISAS

  original, must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip.
• Passport photo
  original, biometric, photo requirements
• Flight tickets or reservation
• Itinary/Schedule of Stay
  as many details as possible about the planned stay. Only city names with the indication “sightseeing” or “business” are not sufficient
• Secondment letter from the employer
  with cost coverage or in case of self-financing current bank statement and the last 3 salary statements
• Power of attorney

• Non-German applicants: current registration certificate (if EU citizen) or copy of residence permit for Germany (if not an EU citizen)
