Indonesia joined the Hague Convention in 2023. Accordingly, the apostille is sufficient. However, the embassy will continue to legalize upon request.

Please note:

  • The recipient's address must be indicated on all documents.
  • All commercial documents, such as certificates of origin, commercial invoices and packing lists, must be pre-certified by the relevant Chamber of Industry and Commerce. For materials that are not from the country of manufacture, their country of origin must be indicated.
  • Health certificates, fitness certificates and food certificates must be pre-certified by the relevant health or veterinary office.
  • Official documents such as powers of attorney, declarations of commitment and contracts must be certified by a local notary and the competent district court.
  • Commercial register extracts must be certified by the district court and patent applications by the patent office.
  • The documents to be legalized must be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the embassy.

Please submit one copy of each document for retention at the Embassy.
