Consular regulations: Great Britain

Great Britain is a member state of the “Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents” (Hague Convention). Therefore, the certification of the authenticity of a public document by an apostille exempts it from legalization by the embassy.

This also applies to Anguilla, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, Saint Helena, Turks and Caicos Islands.
