German and other citizens are visa-free for a stay of up to 45 days (if the passport is still valid for at least 6 months. A minimum period between the visa-free entry and the last exit is not required).

CRUISES: All passengers who require a visa will be issued with a visa upon arrival on board of the ship. The fee for this is approx. 28 USD. Please contact the vessel company of the ship for more information.
Citizens from Bahrain, India, Israel, Lebanon, North Korea, Panama, Sri Lanka and Turkey are requested to obtain a visa for Vietnam before travelling. - Approval Code

E-VISA
German citizens are also entitled to apply for a so-called E-Visa (electronic visa) online.

An application with a temporary passport is not possible.

E-Visa for Vietnam can be applied for a multiple entry with a stay up to 90 days. It should be applied for at least 2 weeks before the planned date of departure.
