German citizens do not need a visa for a stay of up to 90 days if they are travelling for tourism or business reasons. The visa is issued upon entry.

Technicians and fitters must apply for a visa in advance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR TECHNICAL OPERATIONS

  • visa application form

  • passport
    original, at least valid for 6 months after journey

  • passport picture
    original, biometric, photo requirements

  • working permit
    from Malaysia, see advices below

  • company letter
    from employer in Germany, with salary details (sample)

  • proof of entry and exit
    e.g. flight reservation

  • hotel confirmation

  • yellow fewer vaccination
    required for some nationalities 

    non-German applicants
  • current residence registration (Meldebescheinigung) (if EU citizen) or
  • valid residence permit for Germany (if not EU citizen)

PLEASE NOTE:

The inviting Malaysian company has to apply for a work permit at the responsible Immigration Department of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (www.imi.gov.my). 
Once this work permit has been issued the relevant consular mission will be authorised to issue the visa.
