MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL VISA CATEGORIES

  • visa application form
    see on the right

  • passport
    in original, at least valid for 6 months after journey

  • passport picture
    in original, biometric, photo requirements

  • yellow fever vaccination
    e.g. copy of vaccination certificate

    non-German applicants
  • current residence registration (Meldebescheinigung) (if EU citizen) or
  • valid residence permit for Germany (if not EU citizen)


    FOR TOURIST VISA

    additional to minimum requirements above

    • letter of invitation
      approved by the responsible Immigration Office

    FOR BUSINESS VISA

    additional to minimum requirements above

    • letter of invitation 
      from company in Congo, approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kinshasa

    • company letter 
      from employer in Germany (sample)

PLEASE NOTE:

The visa must be used within the first 3 months after issue, otherwise it expires. The actual validity of the visa then begins when you enter the country.
