NEWS

July 2020
Since May it is possible to apply for an (emergency) visa in Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt. We do not yet have any information for Munich; but we assume that a similar procedure is possible there.

These documents are required:
- Online visa application with biometric photo
- Passport and if necessary copies of old Chinavisa from the past 2 years
- official invitation of the Chinese provincial government
- Invitation from the Chinese company to explain, why no Chinese citizen is eligible to carry out the work
- Company letter from the (German) employer, which also emphasizes the necessity of the foreign specialist
- data protection form
- flight resrevation (if apply for visa in Hamburg)
- Health Declaration Form (download here)

The documents are submitted digitally by us first. The Chinese Application Center then contacts the Chinese Embassy or Consulate, where the documents are checked for the existence of an "emergency" and, if necessary, an appointment is made to hand in the original documents directly at the Embassy or Consulate. SERVISUM can then submit your original documents, but only at the location where the applicant has already submitted fingerprints after December 16, 2019. If the applicant has NOT yet submitted fingerprints since 16 December 2019, he/she must present him/herself in person, but at the embassy or consulate (not at the Application Center). The rules of jurisdiction depending on the federal state must be observed.

Since December 16th 2019 all applicants will be required to provide fingerprints. This will require personal appearance at the relevant Chinese Visa Application Center. The biometric data will be saved for five years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. During this time, all further visa applications can be submitted with SERVISUM as before (without personal appearance).

I HAVE SUBMITTED MY FINGERPRINTS ALREADY

Does not include fingerprints given previously!

Your fingerprints will be recorded for a maximum period of 5 years concerning your passport. During this time, you can use our regular visa service as usual and do not have to appear in person again.

A reappearance in the Visa Application Service Center before the end of the 5 year period is only necessary if you apply for the visa with a different, or new passport.
