Visa is required for all travelers to enter Australia, with the exception of nationals of New Zealand. Additional to the visa types listed here, there are a number of different visa categories depending on the nationality, purpose and duration of the stay.

To find out which visa is appropriate for your trip, use the visa finder of the Australian Foreign Ministry.

For example, German citizens who travel as TOURISTS or for BUSINESS purposes have to apply for an eVisitor visa online.

Three versions of visa for tourists and / or business are explained in more detail, in any case the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry:

  • eVisitor 

    subclass 651, free of charge, for tourists and business travelers, valid up to 12 months with a stay up to a maximum of 90 days, for nationals of these countries:
    • European Union (all 28 EU-Member States)
    • Andorra
    • Iceland
    • Liechtenstein
    • Monaco
    • Norway
    • San Marino
    • Switzerland
    • Vatikan City

  • VisitorVisa 

    subclass 651, charge, for tourists and business travelers, valid up to 12 months with a stay up to a maximum of 90 days, for nationals who are not listet above.

  • ETA 

    subclass 601, 20 AUD, for tourists and business travelers, valid up to 12 months with a stay up to a maximum of 90 days, for nationals of these countries:
    • Brunei
    • Canada
    • Hongkong
    • Japan
    • Malaysia
    • Singapore
    • South Korea
    • China (and Taiwan)
    • USA

German citizens traveling as TECHNICIANS need a visa of the category "Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity)" (Subclass 400)

Non-German but EU citizen who live in Germany have to fill out this additional form. If you want to stay more than 3 months or have another citizenship please look at the next black box for more information.

If you want to stay more than 3 months OR unless you are not a EU-citizen and like to travel to Australia for tourist or casual business reasons. We'll apply for your VisitorVisa.

  • Form 1419 for tourist (download here, relevant are pages 5 to 12) OR
    Form 1415 for business (download here, relevant are pages 5 to 10)
  • Form 956 A (download here) (please fill out no. 4, 5, 7, 9 and give your signature on page 6 on the right)
  • scan of passport (pages with personal data, in color)
  • copy of payslip or bank statement
  • copy of residence permit for Germany

Further documents may be required. We will inform you promptly after your order has been received.

135,00 AUD (visa fee, corresponds to about 100,00 €)
+ 130,90 € (SERVISUM fee, incl. VAT)

  • letter of the company you are working with (sample)
  • travel itinerary (flight reservation or similar)
  • proof of qualification
  • copy of employment contract
  • letter of invitation
